FANDANGO 2021 - Released May 19, 2022
Our blend of two white grape varieties, Albariño and Verdejo. The only wine of these grapes produced in Canada! Our 11th vintage of Fandango is composed of Albariño (51%) and Verdejo (49%), both estate grown at our Lone Hand Ranch vineyard (Sub GI label). Tough granitic soils of glacial origin characterize the vineyard.
TASTING NOTES
Finding fennel, melon and citrus on the nose, with a palate of almond and lime pith amidst a stream of tingling acidity. Harmoniously balanced with a layer of fine texture that creates an attractive weight and a lingering finish. There is plenty of tension here – this vintage is satisfying and refreshing!
Would pair well with a handful of Marcona Almonds and some anchovy stuffed olives or more serious fare such as grilled whole white fish with a squeeze of citrus.
WINEMAKER'S NOTES
Our 11th vintage of Fandango is 51% Albariño and 49% Verdejo – all from the Naramata Bench. The Verdejo was hand picked on Sept 21st, and gently whole cluster pressed. 100% stainless steel fermented until bone dry. The Albariño from Lone Hand Ranch was harvested on 2 separate days. The lots were fermented separately, then blended together after completing bench trials.

"This is really attractive, with lime and pear and some nice acidity. A very fresh white that has a brightness to it and plenty of intensity"
